Rabbits and small animals in kill impound centers need your help!

Award winning pet insurance quotes from Pet Protect

This page has many images, it might take several minutes to load on slower connections or older machines, please wait, the rabbits & small animals listed need help today!

While many listed pets are from Southern Ca, I do have links to Northern CA impound centers as well as world wide impound center listings! (Please email us with links or information on impound centers in your area that have sometimes have rabbits or pocket pets for adoption.) For a list of all CA impound centers, listed by county, please visit Adopt A Pet CA.

Disclaimer: Any comments are the opinion of the individual volunteer who visited with the animal, and are not those of the impound centers or the owner of this website. The individual impound centers, volunteers making the comments and the site owner take no responsibility or liability for opinions stated regarding the health, aprox. age or temperament of a pet listed. The person adopting the pet accepts full responsibility and liability for any problems. Adopters should always visit with the animal before adopting, to make their own decision of an animal's health and temperament.

Pets described on this page may not still be available when you contact the impound center. If you are interested in any impound center animal, please do not delay in contacting the impound center directly!  Be sure to give the impound number if one is known, not the name listed.

The "available date" could be the pet's only day to be saved. Because most impound centers deal with so many animals, it's hard for them to tell you which pets are still there, what their personalities are like, etc. Go in person to verify the pet is still available!

Please Note: If you do not see a rabbit or pocket pet listed, visit the impound center, some impound centers do not have a volunteer who sends regular updates! If you don't visit the impound center, a pet just like the one you are seeking might die. We can always use impound center scouts, if you are interested in volunteering with this, please contact us. Impound center scouts take pictures, verify sex, color and sometimes age.

Rabbits and pocket pet in these impound centers could have only a few days to live!! If you are interested in a pet from one of these impound centers, go down ASAP. Some impound centers are unable to hold pets beyond their available date due to space or policy issues.

Bunny Bunch often rescues rabbits from this and other impound centers in Southern CA! They can always use donations of cages, food and other supplies as well as cash to help these rabbits. Please call the Bunny Bunch for details!

If you are interested in the rabbits, please contact Caroline at Bunny Bunch. Bunny Bunch has several of the Pomona Humane Society rabbits in foster care and they work directly with the impound center. Caroline can answer questions regarding which rabbits are currently available and help you faster than the overworked impound center staff. All rabbits are spayed or neutered before leaving the impound center.

East Valley (L.A. City) Impound Center

1-888-452-7381

13131 Sherman Way, North Hollywood

Hours- Closed Mon, Tues. - Sat. 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Sun 11-4 pm

Sadly, this impound center has rabbits arriving weekly. If you are looking for a rabbit or small animal, please check the impound center first. Visit the Los Angeles Animal Services website for recently updated information on which rabbits and other small animals are available. (Look under adoptions for currently available pets. Look under lost to see all the small animals currently in the impound center.) All rabbits are spayed and neutered before adoption. The adoption fee is $50 which helps cover the surgery.

They often have small animals such as hamsters, guinea pigs or rats and even reptiles like iguanas. If you visit the impound center, you must ask a staff member in the kennel area to show you the available small pets. Because rabbits are overcrowding the impound center, it's important that you go as soon as the impound center is open if you are interested in a certain rabbit.
